THE VICTIMS

THE KILLER
Six years ago, a group of travellers set off on an African safari. None of them are seen again – apart from one woman who stumbled out of the bush weeks later, barely alive. The only woman to have seen the killer’s face.
THE SURVIVOR
Has the ‘safari killer’ resurfaced in Boston? Jane is sent to Africa to find the one link between the two cases – the only survivor - and convince her to face death once again.
My Review
A special thank you to Random House and First Reads for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What an adventure! Dynamic duo, Detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner, Maura Isles return in Tess Gerritsen’s latest heart-pounding thriller, DIE AGAIN from Boston to the wilds of Botswana, for a terrifying adventure. The crime solving pair, of course is the inspiration behind TNT’s hit show Rizzoli & Isles.
Broken in two parts for a multi-layered fast page action thriller. Narrated by a woman on a safari in Okavango Delta, Botswana six years prior as the case unfolds--she the only survivor found in South Africa, and brought to Boston to help solve the murders. An electrifying thriller, where the world’s most bloodthirsty predators lie in wait behind every hidden crevice.
Rizzoli and Isles find themselves close on the trail of a murderer, who sadistic styling mimic a leopard on the prowl. After linking the latest crime, sixty-four year old big game hunter and taxidermist Leon Gott,(a house like Noah’s Ark with mounted animals), to a series of unsolved homicides in wilderness areas across the country, where answers may be found in a remote corner of South Africa.
Six years earlier, a group of tourists on safari fell prey to a killer in their midst. But the deadliest predator was already among them, he walked away with the blood of all but one of them on his hands. Now this killer has chosen Boston as his new hunting ground, and Rizzoli and Isles must find a way to lure him out of the shadows and into a cage. Even if it means using the one victim as bait; the one victim who got away-- Millie Jacobson, the safari’s only survivor. (the account of how they were trapped and terrified --an unsolved massacre in years past- haunting!)
This was the most chilling and suspense novel, gripping you as you want to cover your eyes in the scary parts; however, you are dying to turn the page to discover the fate of the innocent against the savage beast.
Gerritsen definitely takes readers into the criminal minds and the best of forensic sciences where there is much detail of predators, animals and humans; vivid settings and descriptions –From footsteps to whispers, she calculates every move.
Tess plunges deep into the dark human behaviors for a haunting and suspenseful tale page-turner mystery which her fans will agree this one is a SCORE!
