Georgina Cross returns following One Night with her latest domestic suspense, MY PERFECT HUSBAND. A husband and wife with missing siblings. Both are hiding secrets in their marriage of the past. Can they trust one another?
Lauren and Alex are married and both graphic designers. Lauren lost her sister years ago, and her body has not been found. Alex also has a missing brother, Clive.
Years later, Lauren's dad is in an assisted living facility, and her mom has passed. Then the news comes. Ellie's body was found in New Orleans. There is an investigation.
Strangely, photos are found with Ellie. Alex and Clive. What is the connection between Clive, Alex, and Ellie? Alex had told Lauren he did not know her sister. What is going on?
However, Lauren and Alex hide their secrets in New Orleans. What are they hiding, and what really happened to Ellie and Clive?
MY PERFECT HUSBAND features unreliable narrators and no likable characters.. Nothing is as it appears. Both are lying, and both have buried secrets from the past. How far will they go to keep their secrets?
Which one will confess?
The book's one highlight was its New Orleans setting. However, I found it very repetitive and slow.
I read the e-book and listened to the audiobook narrated by Stephanie Cannon. While the narration was fine, I just could not get into this book, and it was not for me. Of the few I have read, I came away with the same opinion. Her books are not for me; however, I am sure they have a particular audience.
